Insane in the Membrane Hotfixed

After almost two years, Blizzard has finally hotfixed Insane in the Membrane, so that it works as originally intended, crediting you for the Feat of Strength if you have ever earned the reputations, and not requiring you to keep them.

The Patch 5.4.7 Hotfixes for April 14 read:

  • Insane in the Membrane: Resolved an issue where Exalted status with the various Steamwheedle Cartel factions, as well as Honored status with the Bloodsail Buccaneers faction, were not properly being credited if those reputations subsequently decreased. Players should now be able to earn this achievement if they have ever brought those five reputations to the required levels.

On first glance, there doesn’t appear to have been a fix at all; my character still does not show as Honored with Bloodsail, despite having attained this previously during Mists. Another character doesn’t show any reputations as being complete, even the goblin towns which are already Exalted. It may require another reputation change before the tracker corrects itself, or those of you who got Bloodsail up prior to the hotfix may still need to open a GM ticket to get your achievement granted. It’s a bit too early to tell.

I’m only a few junkboxes away from completing Insane #5, so I will be able to personally verify this shortly.

I would like to think that the detailed reports I have collected and tests I have done over this time period somehow helped Blizzard’s developers find and fix the issue, but I doubt that I will ever hear from them specifically about this. If you’re reading this, please prove me wrong.
